Flood watch issued for a majority of Southeastern Nebraska
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the majority of southeastern Nebraska, including Lancaster county, until late tonight.
With rainfall amounts of over 2 inches already received throughout the Lincoln and Omaha areas, additional heavy rainfall this afternoon and evening will cause runoff to already saturated soil, leading to the potential for localized flooding and rapid rises on area streams and rivers.
Drivers are advised to proceed with caution as roadways may also become flooded in periods of heavy rain.
The following counties are included in this Flood Watch: Burt, Butler, Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Otoe, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders, Seward and Washington. More information by county can be found here: https://www.klkntv.com/weatheralerts
