Food Bank of Lincoln celebrating 40 years

The new Food Bank facility in northwest Lincoln is expected to be complete by late spring.

LINCOLN, Neb(KLKN)- This year, Food Bank of Lincoln is celebrating their 40 year anniversary.

In the Food Bank of Lincoln’s 16-county service area of Southeast Nebraska, over 57,000 people may experience food insecurity this year, including over 16,000 kids.

The LPS Emergency Pantry is open to any LPS or private school student or employee and their families who need food. Families are welcome to visit the pantry one time per month. The pantry is located at Bryan Community School and is open from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday that school is in session.

Food distributions are held Monday-Saturday and schedules can be found online.
