Food Bank of Lincoln preparing for annual luncheon

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- The Food Bank of Lincoln is preparing for its 21st annual Empty Bowls luncheon on Tuesday, May 30. At the luncheon, the community is able to enjoy soup from local vendors and select a handcrafted stoneware bowl from ‘Down Under Pottery Studio.’

Tickets to the Empty Bowls luncheon are $25 and are on sale while supplies last online. According to a press release, tickets are going quickly.

If you are interested in making donations to the Food Bank of Lincoln, they are in need of the following:

  • Tuna and other canned meats
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Peanut butter
  • Macaroni and cheese and other boxed dinners
  • Brown rice and long-grain white rice
  • 100% fruit juice
  • Olive oil or canola oil
  • Spices
  • Low-sugar, whole grain cereals
  • Healthy snacks (granola bars, nuts, dried fruit)
  • Coffee
