Food Bank of Lincoln receives $5,000 donation to help address hunger this holiday season

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – ResCare Community Living of Nebraska/Community Alternatives Nebraska has donated $5,000 to the Food Bank of Lincoln to help address hunger this holiday season.  ResCare employees will be volunteering at the Food Bank of Lincoln to assist in the distribution of meals and food items to those in need.

As food costs continue to rise with supply chain issues, more communities across the United States are feeling the effects of food insecurity.  Food Bank of Lincoln has seen a 220% increase in prices of produce and freight cost since this time last year.

“We’re glad we can help our community by supporting The Food Bank of Lincoln. They’re doing great things every day to ensure so many people receive meals. We can’t thank them enough for their continual efforts and commitment to ending hunger in and around Lincoln,” said Travis Jacobs, Executive Director of ResCare Community Living in Nebraska.

ResCare Community Living, which has 82 operations across the country, has committed to donating over $400,000 to local food banks before the end of the year.
