Foot chase leads to discovery of methamphetamine and paraphernalia in backpack

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Around 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 8, an officer with Lincoln Police Department (LPD) witnessed a male leave the NP Mart on a bicycle.

The officer noticed the male failed to use a designated crosswalk to cross O Street. The officer then attempted to contact the male, who began to flee.

The male, later identified as Noah Yankton, 46, crashed his bike and began to flee on foot.

A short foot chase ensued until Yankton was taken into custody. Upon searching Yankton’s belongings, officers discovered 0.2 mg of methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia.

Yankton was cited and lodged for resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a police officer.
