Forecast Update: Sunday, August 29

Another round of thunderstorms arrive during our overnight hours

SUNDAY:  Cooler temperatures and cloudy skies dominated this pleasant Sunday, with highs reaching the upper 70s and low 80s around the state!  A broken cloud layer covers our sky this evening, allowing temperatures to drop into the mid-60s with east-northeasterly winds becoming light.  Thunderstorms are anticipated to develop after midnight with the potential of dropping nickel-sized hail and 50MPH wind gusts.

MONDAY:  Lingering storms could greet us in the morning before our second round of showers and thunderstorms arrive in the afternoon.  Although this will be another day of cooler temperatures (highs rising to low 80s), severe thunderstorms are possible throughout the afternoon and evening hours.  The main threats of these storms include large hail, damaging winds and localized flooding on already saturated areas.

Temperatures stay on the cool side until mid-week when we warm up to 90 degrees again.
