Woman arrested, accused of delivering K2 to inmate at Lincoln prison
An Omaha woman was arrested for allegedly delivering synthetic marijuana to an inmate at a Lincoln prison.
Online records show 32-year-old Lindsey Stewart was booked in Lancaster County Jail Monday for possession with intent to deliver a hazardous drug.
Stewart hid a balloon containing synthetic marijuana (commonly referred to as K2) in her pant leg, which she then delivered to an inmate at the Lincoln Correctional Center, according to an arrest affidavit filed by an NDCS investigator.
The inmate, identified in court documents as Brandon K. Hines, is currently serving a sentence felony theft and weapons possession. Video showed Hines swallowing the balloon, which was later collected by authorities, according to court documents. Hines admitted the green leaf substance inside the balloon was K2, according to the document.
Stewart was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
*** Correction: An earlier version of this article said Stewart was a corrections employee. Despite online records listing “Unlawful acts by a corrections employee,” as one of her charges, NDCS officials later told Channel 8 Eyewitness News Stewart was not one of their employees, and that the charge listed was a mistake. NDCS said Stewart was a visitor.
