Former Husker Casey Rogers announces commitment to Oregon

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Husker defensive lineman Casey Rogers announced Wednesday that he has committed to the University of Oregon.

Rogers made the announcement in a video posted to Twitter.

In April, Rogers announced that he had entered the transfer portal after four seasons with the Huskers.

At the time, the lineman said he was exploring his options for his last two years of eligiblity.

Rogers redshirted in 2018, missing most of the season due to an injury.  In 2019, he played four games as a redshirt freshman.

Rogers played in every single game in 2020 as a sophomore.  He finished the season with 24 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, and 1 sack.

Rogers missed the first five games of the 2021 season due to an injury suffered in fall camp.  He came back and played the last seven games and recorded 17 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks.

During his time at UNL, Rogers earned three Academic All-Big Ten awards.
