Former Husker Lavonte David re-signs with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Husker Lavonte David will be continuing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Florida native re-signed with the Bucs on a one-year, $7 million deal, according to the NFL.

David was selected by Tampa Bay in the second round of the NFL draft in 2012.

Since then, he has been an integral part of the Bucs’ defense for 11 seasons, picking up 1,345 tackles and a Super Bowl win.

David is the longest-tenured player at Tampa Bay, according to ESPN.

Before his NFL career, David spent two seasons with the Huskers, earning several accolades, including first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2011.
