Former Nebraska tight end Nate Boerkircher drafted by Jacksonville in second round
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Former Nebraska tight end Nate Boerkircher was drafted in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday night.
The Jacksonville Jaguars took Boerkircher with the 56th pick in the draft.

The Aurora, Nebraska, native walked on at Nebraska in 2020 and saw his first action as a Husker in 2022.
Over 52 games at Nebraska, Boerkircher hauled in 38 receptions for 417 yards and four touchdowns.
He transferred to Texas A&M in 2025, grabbing 19 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns.
