Crews investigate Lincoln house fire, battle crowded home interior

LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue was called to a house fire at 25th and J Streets just after 6:00 a.m. on Saturday.

According to LFR, two occupants were transferred to the hospital. At this time, LFR is not releasing the names or conditions of those involved.

Multiple cats and dogs were evacuated from the home, according to Battalion Chief Jim Bopp.

LFR said the fire was somewhat difficult to navigate. Excess items in the home made it more challenging for firefighters to get around.

At this time, the cause of the fire is currently undetermined. However, LFR said they believe the fire may have started on the bottom floor before expanding upstairs.

LFR said the home is uninhabitable and Red Cross is currently assisting with relocation.
