UPDATE: Family of 4 killed in eastern Nebraska crash

SCRIBNER, Neb. (KLKN) — Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) have identified the four individuals killed during a Thursday crash.

The driver, 37-year-old Heidi Lykens-Huisman was at the wheel of a Pontiac sedan. Her husband, 29-year-old Joshua Huisman, 10-year-old Jaysmin Lykens, and 9-month-old Nova Huisman were all passengers in the sedan. All were Fremont residents.

NSP says the sedan tried to pass another vehicle on Hwy 275 near Scribner when it lost control and struck a northbound semi.

Heidi, Joshua, and Jaymasin were all pronounced dead at the scene. Nova was taken by Scribner Rescue to a Fremont hospital, where she would later pass away.

The semi driver, 37-year-old Heath Harrison of Beemer was not injured.

This section of the highway was closed down for a short time but has since reopened.

Authorities are still investigating the accident.
