Fred Hoiberg, Cale Jacobsen speak to media ahead of Nebraska’s season opener against Le Moyne

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska is all wrapped up with its exhibition games. Now, the record will begin counting wins and losses.

On Thursday at the Devaney Center, head coach Fred Hoiberg and fifth-year guard Cale Jacobsen spoke to media to recap the three preseason contests and look ahead to Monday’s regular season opener against Le Moyne.

“For our group to get to go play three really good teams and three really different systems . . . it’s like we played some of the top offensive teams in the country this preseason,” Jacobsen said on facing Saint Louis, BYU and Kansas State in the exhibitions. “It was good to test ourselves and to  challenge ourselves. And just for our group to see what it’s like to play at this level and to play together and have to fight through runs, like I think that will really help us down the road.”

The Huskers are coming off a historic year, which included a record 28 wins and a Sweet 16 appearance.

Tip off between the Huskers and Le Moyne Dolphins is at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The game will be broadcasted on Big Ten Plus.
