Free training on saving lives in the middle a mass shooting

This campaign was created following the Sandy Hook massacre

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska Community Blood Bank and Bryan Health are coming together to host a free Stop the Bleed Training event today.

The event is located at 84th & O from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Participants will learn how to identify life-threatening wounds and the best practices for treating injuries.  Hands-on practice in pressure control, packing a wound and applying tourniquets will be taught by trauma experts.  Anyone over the age of 14 is invited to attend.

Stop the Bleed is a national campaign created following the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy.  An evaluation of the horrific event revealed that many of the deaths could have been prevented.

Masks will be required and temperatures will be taken at the door.  This training is free but space is limited, so please use the link to register.
