LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Gerber Good Start SoothePro powdered infant formula is being recalled due to a potential contamination.

The company says this is out of an abundance of caution, as no distributed products have tested positive for Cronobacter sakazakii.

In most cases, the bacteria won’t cause any problems.

But serious symptoms can develop in premature infants, infants under two months of age and infants with weakened immune systems.

It could cause a fever, poor feeding, excessive crying and low energy.

The recalled product has been sold at retailers across the U.S.

If you bought it after March 5, you’ll want to check Lot Codes and “use by” dates on the bottom of the package.

Dispose of the formula right away if you have a match.

You can request a refund by contacting the Gerber Parent Resource Center at 1-800-777-7690.
