Gov. Pillen proclaims Sept. 24, 2026 as Team Jack Day in Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — On Sept. 24, Gov. Jim Pillen proclaimed the day as Team Jack Day in Nebraska.
Jack Hoffman was diagnosed in 2011 with brain cancer. In 2013, Jack ran his infamous run during the Husker spring football game. In 2025, Jack passed away after fighting brain cancer for almost 14 years.
Today, his story began the Team Jack Foundation. The Team Jack Foundation is hosting their 14th annual radiothon that features businesses, radio stations and nonprofits across Nebraska.
“We honor Jack by continuing the fight, supporting families facing pediatric brain cancer, and working toward a future where no child has to face this disease,” Pillen said.
