Graduation, marathon weekend brings record earnings for Lincoln Airbnb users

Lincoln residents who rented their homes through the Airbnb app brought in a record amount of money during the Lincoln Marathon and UNL’s commencement weekend, the company said. 

Lincoln hosts brought in more than $45,000 while lodging about 600 guests from May 3-5, the company said. 

Those numbers represent the largest surge of guests using the app in Lincoln in the company’s history. 

This represented the largest surge of guests to Lincoln in the history of Airbnb’s platform.

There are about 240 active Airbnb’s in Lincoln, a company spokesman told Channel 8 Eyewitness News.
