Grand Island woman found with cocaine after striking officer, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested Thursday when she was found with cocaine after hitting an officer, Grand Island Police say.
Just after 7:20 p.m., officers were sent to an apartment near Walnut and Charles Streets after a dispute began between Trista Weasel and a landlord.
The landlord wanted Weasel to leave the apartment, according to police.
Officers tried to put Weasel in handcuffs when she started throwing items, police say.
She struck an officer as she continued to resist arrest by refusing to put her hands behind her back, authorities said.
Once officers got her into handcuffs, they found a “white powdery substance,” which Weasel said was her cocaine, according to police.
Weasel was arrested on suspicion of assault on an officer, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
