Greenwood woman killed in eastern Nebraska crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman died Sunday after she crashed into the back of a vehicle in Greenwood, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office says.

The crash happened around 4:50 p.m. on Highway 6, just west of Church Road.

A Ford Freestyle was waiting to turn into Baker’s Candies when Geraldine Frank, 88, struck the back of the vehicle.

Frank’s vehicle came to a stop on a hill adjacent to Highway 6, according to the sheriff’s office.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, a 42-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The sheriff’s office says alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.
