Hasting’s Couple Died in Accident

The Nebraska State Patrol has released the cause of death of two Hastings friends who were missing for nearly two years. Patrol Lieutenant Dennis Leonard says a vehicle accident caused the deaths of Bill Rundle and Traci Kenley. They say evidence indicates foul play was not involved. The patrol says a floor shifter was in park after the jeep was recovered. The headlights were in the “on'' position and windows on both sides of the vehicle had been lowered several inches.

The patrol confirmed during the weekend that human remains found inside a jeep pulled Thursday from a drainage pond near Glenvil were those of Bill and Traci. The patrol says dental records were used to identify the remains. The friends were last seen August 17th of 2000 after leaving Kenley's parent's farm near Edgar to return to Hastings.
