LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Hastings man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of driving under the influence after a pursuit with a trooper, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Around 1:55 a.m., a trooper saw a Ford F-150 speeding on Cornhusker Highway near Fourth Street in Lincoln.

The trooper tried to pull over the truck, but the driver, 49-year-old James Fox, refused to stop and sped off.

The trooper chased Fox through residential streets until he drove into a ditch, NSP said.

Fox then tried to run away but was quickly caught by the trooper.

The pursuit lasted about five minutes, according to the patrol.

Fox was arrested on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, third-offense DUI, reckless driving, obstructing a peace officer, driving during revocation and possession of an open alcohol container.

He was lodged in the Lancaster County Jail.
