Headstones, fence vandalized at cemetery in southeast Nebraska, sheriff’s office says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Gage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after headstones were damaged at a cemetery in Blue Springs.

A caller reported damage to two headstones and a fence on Jan. 19, according to a Facebook post.

The sheriff’s office said Monday that vehicle tracks were seen leaving the roadway and entering the cemetery.

Deputies also recovered pieces of a grille suspected to be from the same vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

The photo shared by the sheriff’s office suggests that the vehicle ran into the headstones, toppling them.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Gage County Sheriff’s Office at 402-223-5222 or Crime Stoppers at 402-228-4343.
