Health Care workers receive second dose at PBA vaccine clinic
Another vaccine clinic took place Friday morning at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Another vaccine clinic took place Friday morning at Pinnacle Bank Arena. It is for health care workers at the clinic and was not open to the public. Health Director Pat Lopez expects 4,800 people to come to the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Lopez adds some vaccines have been delayed due to shipping and they are waiting on updates from the state. She says some Moderna shots expected this week didn’t come in and they are waiting are expecting Pfizer vaccines next week.
A dentist says he is excited to receive the second dose with his co-workers and is inspired to do it to protect others.
“It’s just that extra layer that extra level,” said Brandon Chapek, for Capital Dental. “You know, for me my big reason that I really wanted to get vaccinated, I know I’m a healthy person that’s probably not going to have a major issue but I’ve got elderly grandparents. I’ve got a 9-month-old at home. You know just kind of trying to look out for those at higher risk and I think as a health professional that’s one of your responsibilities.”
Second doses for ages 80 and up will be given next Thursday and they have those vaccines.
