Health Dept. reports 70 COVID-19 hospitalizations

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Today, the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) announced that 70 patients have been hospitalized due to COVID-19, over half (43) are residents of the county. Ten are currently on ventilators, five of which are from Lancaster County.

So far, 79 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed today. This brings our community total to 6,425.

The number of deaths remains at 24, while the number of recoveries also hasn’t changed from 2,435.

The overall positivity rate for the county is still 8.4 percent.

Nebraska’s positivity rate is 9.8 percent.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. If you have symptoms, please get tested. Testing is now open to all Lancaster County residents by appointment only.
