Health officials report 3 flu-related deaths in Lancaster County

Health officials say there are now three flu-related deaths in Lancaster County. 

The Lancaster County weekly influenza positivity rate decreased to 23.6 percent and provider visits and hospitalizations for flu decreased. Although influenza B is predominant at the national level, locally influenza A is predominant currently.

Nebraska continues to report flu activity level in the state to be widespread, and flu activity remains high in Lancaster County.

A total of three flu-associated deaths in adults in their sixties have been identified in Lancaster County.

Nationally, key indicators that track flu activity remain high, but indicators that track severity (hospitalizations and deaths) are not high at this point in the season.
