UPDATE: Situation resolved near 24th and Garfield
There is a heavy police presence in the area of 24th and Garfield Streets in south Lincoln.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – After checking with Lincoln Police for an update, they say the area was cleared by Wednesday morning.
LPD says there was a mental health crisis, but situation was resolved.
There is a heavy police presence in the area of 24th and Garfield Streets in south Lincoln late Tuesday night. Police currently have a perimeter set up in the area and residents are asked to avoid the area for the time being.
A Channel 8 reporter on scene reports seeing an ambulance and fire engine on stand by in the area while police block off roads.
It’s unknown why police have the area blocked off, but it’s reportedly been that way for a few hours.
