Hoiberg, husker basketball head coach, announced as keynote speaker for Governor’s Summit
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Kearney will be hosting the 2026 Governor’s Summit on Sept. 28-29. Fred Hoiberg, head coach for Nebraska men’s basketball, has been revealed as a headline keynote speaker.
Ben Sasse, former Nebraska senator, is the other headline speaker for the Summit.
“Coach Hoiberg is a competitor, winner, and high-character leader,” said Gov. Jim Pillen. “When taking the Huskers to the Sweet 16 last season, he rallied Big Red Nation behind the basketball team like never before. I look forward to hearing his leadership insights at the Summit!”
Hoiberg is entering is eighth season as head coach for Nebraska. Hoiberg and the team had a historic season last year with the program’s first ever NCAA tournament win. They broke the record for most conference wins, most made three-pointers and more.
