Severe Weather Potential:

Multiple rounds of storms will be possible across the state Monday evening and into the overnight, with scattered severe storms possible. A Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) of severe weather is in place for western and far northern portions of the state. Large hail and damaging winds are the main concerns for storms late Monday night into early Tuesday.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for western Nebraska until 11 p.m. MDT on Monday, August 10.

This is a look at what the radar could show throughout Monday evening and into Tuesday, according to the latest run of StormCast.

Chances for severe weather continue on Tuesday for north-central and northeast Nebraska with another passing system to the north. A Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) of severe weather is in place for most. Large hail and damaging winds would be the main concerns in the strongest storms.

Isolated to scattered severe storms are possible again for Wednesday, with the highest chance in southwest Nebraska and portions of the panhandle. At this time, large hail and damaging winds are the main concerns in the strongest storms.

Storm chances move east throughout the day on Wednesday, with StormCast showing another late-night chance for storms.

Forecast:

Temperatures tonight will range from the upper 50s in the west to the middle 70s in far southeast Nebraska.

Cloud cover is expected to increase in Lincoln this evening, with a small chance for showers early on Tuesday morning.

Summertime heat sticks around on Tuesday afternoon. Most of the state will see another hot and humid day.

The Capital City could see partly cloudy skies in the morning, before sunshine returns for the afternoon.

Higher humidity will continue on Tuesday, which will push feels-like temperatures across the state to the upper 90s to around 100 degrees.

A sharp drop in temperatures arrives for the back half of the work week. Temperatures fall to the upper 70s and lower 80s alongside chances for showers and thunderstorms.
