Hundreds attend Women Lead 2020 Conference

UNL's College of Business and the College of Law came together on Friday to host the first Women Lead 2020 conference.

UNL’s College of Business and the College of Law came together on Friday to host the first Women Lead 2020 conference.

“The College of Law and the College of Business partnered together to provide a place for people who want to advance women in many different professions, to come, gather, talk and learn to be their authentic selves,” said Sheri Irwin-Gish, UNL College of Business.

The theme was ‘Claim Your Power’ and over 300 women attended, selling out the event.

The conference featured break out sessions, keynote speakers and networking all in hopes to empower Nebraskan women.

“As women we have some unique challenges that we face in the business world and this was really an opportunity to think about those and address them head on and get workable solutions of how we can best navigate,” said Dana Washington, for Boystown.

Judges, mayors, CEOs and more all shared advice on how to advance in their professions.
