Hundreds gather for 9th annual Nebraska Football Road Race
Go Big Red!
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – After a virtual race last year due to COVID-19, the 9th annual Nebraska Football Road Race went off without a hitch Sunday morning.
Kids, parents and Husker football players, gathered near Memorial Stadium for the race and it all went to a good cause. From the first race back in 2013 to this year, almost $175,000 dollars have been raised for Pediatric Brain Caner. Those funds have helped hundreds of kids around Nebraska.
“The support that showed up today is a good indicator of the support that’s going to continue to come, come the season and future races,” Ryan Schommer, an Outside Linebacker for the Huskers.
Many got the chance to interact and grab autographs from some Husker football players after the race.
