Hundreds of grams of meth seized after Lincoln officers chase men with gun

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two men were arrested after an ongoing narcotics investigation turned into a foot chase Thursday night.

This all started around 25th and U Streets at 11:40 p.m.

Police say the man whose home they were watching left in a vehicle and officers followed.

We’re told they tried to stop him after he committed an infraction, but he sped off.

Officers returned to the home and waited for the man to come back, which he did a short time later.

Police said the driver, who was later identified as 37-year-old Patrick Carey, took off running along with his passenger, 34-year-old Jared Mutchie.

But officers caught up to both of them and took the men into custody.

Carey was carrying a Glock 10 mm handgun, 12.8 grams of suspected meth and $1,317 in cash.

Officers found an additional 198.8 grams of suspected meth at his home.
