Husker football defensive back named to Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —Today, Donovan Jones, Nebraska defensive back, was named to the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List.

Jones was one of 113 who were recognized for the watch list. The award recognized student-athletes who use their status and platforms to serve the community. It honors Football Bowl Subdivision players who excel in the classroom, on the field and participate in community service.

According to Husker Athletics, Jones volunteers at the Food Bank of Lincoln, Matt Talbot Kitchen, the Malone Center, F Street Community Center and with the Omaha and Lincoln Public Schools.

The athlete who will receive the award will be announced on Dec. 11.
