Husker Women's Basketball Excited To Open Season

EVANSTON, Ill. (KLKN) — The Nebraska women’s basketball team rallied from a 14-point deficit to upset No. 24 Northwestern, 71-64, on Wednesday. It’s the Huskers fourth win against a ranked opponent this season, including two victories over the Wildcats.

Kate Cain went 8-for-8 from the floor and 7-for-7 from the free throw line to lead the Big Red with 22 points. Issie Bourne added 21 points and a career-high 17 rebounds.

Nebraska overcame 28 turnovers as well.

The Huskers return home on Sunday to host Penn State at 2:00 p.m.
