Infant survives crash that killed McCook woman

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A McCook woman died from injuries suffered Wednesday morning when her vehicle struck the back of an unoccupied Nebraska Public Power District truck.

The McCook Police Department and McCook Fire and Rescue responded to the crash near West Q and West 7th Streets.

Ketra Vlasin, 26, was driving her 2004 Chevrolet Impala with an infant passenger when she hit the back of a 2006 Freightliner.

The truck was parked on the side of the road with emergency equipment activated while workers performed maintenance work.

Vlasin and the infant passenger were taken to a hospital by McCook Fire and Rescue.

Vlasin later died from her injuries.

The infant was treated and released to family members.

The crash is still under investigation.
