LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Corrections officials say an inmate convicted of weapon and drug charges is unaccounted for as of Friday night.

Jeremy Hayes did not return to the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln after being allowed out on an approved pass earlier in the day, officials said.

An electronic monitoring device Hayes was wearing was last activated in the area of 13th and E St., officials said. However, Hayes was not found during a search of the area.

Hayes is serving a three-and-a-half year sentence on charges out of Lancaster County that include possession of a controlled substance and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.

Hayes is described as a Black man, 6’, 175 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
