LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln bar is opting to close temporarily due to rising numbers of COVID-19 cases.

Duffy’s Tavern said in social media posts Monday it is “going to close for a spell until things simmer down.”

“Maybe if we all take this seriously we can get to a point where our business can be open and people (again) have jobs,” the bar said. “It didn’t have to be like this… stay health and #MaskUp.”

The post says the bar wants nothing more than to be open, but said the pandemic has created “difficult circumstances.”

“We will (be) back soon, and better than ever!” the business said.
