JAILBREAK IN A JIFFY: Florida inmate’s attempted escape caught on camera

CLEARWATER, Fl. (ABC) — A Florida inmate’s attempted jailbreak was caught on camera!

On Thursday, the County Sheriff held a press conference to discuss the 25-year-old Cody Jondreau’s escape.

Jondreau was arrested last month for an Ohio murder charge, after the death of his 9-wee-old son was ruled a homicide.

He was being housed at a Clearwater, Florida jail, in a maximum-security area, awaiting extradition to Ohio.

On the morning of Wednesday, June 9 Jondreau out during recreation time around. It was then that he began to scale the northwest wall of the yard and pass through the razor wire in under 30 seconds.

He can be seen running across the roof before jumping 11 ft to the ground.

Deputies chased after Jondreau and took him into custody near a local business.

Jondreau sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. He will be taken to Ohio once he is medically cleared.
