Jimmy Kimmel announces he’s ‘quiet quitting’ heading into his show’s 20th season

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —  Jimmy Kimmel announced that he will be “quiet quitting” heading into his 20th season of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The term has been a buzzword over the last couple of months.

It’s loosely defined as still being employed at one’s job but simply hitting the minimal work quota benchmarks.

The phenomenon grew on TikTok before making its way into Kimmel’s vocabulary.

The talk show host said, “After two decades at ABC, I am now looking forward to three years of what they call quiet quitting.”

Kimmel admits he considered retiring from the show but told Variety Magazine that he doesn’t know how long that would last.  His contract was set to expire next year.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs at 10:35 p.m. on ABC.
