John Larsen retires after legendary coaching career

The state's most winningest basketball coach retires after 10 state championships over 33 seasons.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – After a record-setting career, Crete girls basketball coach John Larsen is retiring.

Before coaching the Cardinals, Larsen spent 29 season as head coach at Lincoln Southeast. During his career, Larsen won 638 games, the most by any girls’ basketball coach in Nebraska high school history. He also claimed 10 state titles.
