Karen Morfitt

Some of Karen's fondest memories of growing up is taking family trips with mom, dad, her two sisters and two brothers.  My parents would take all five of us on vacation road trips.  Karen remembers, “We were so lucky to have been to so many wonderful places.”

As long as she can remember she kept telling her grandma that she wanted to be a news reporter.  To help pay for her education at Colorado State University, Karen worked in a coal mine over summer and winter breaks.  Karen graduated with a degree in journalism from CSU.

As a photojournalist for Channel 8 Eyewitness News Karen gets to find out about people she might not have had the opportunity to meet.  “Working in news gives me the opportunity to meet so many unique people and hear some remarkable stories”, Karen says.  She adds that she can actually say, “I love what I do.”

In her spare time , she works out, plays volleyball, softball, snowboard, hike, bike and pretty much anything outdoors.
