Kitten finds forever home after being found in trash, Nebraska Humane Society says

Nebraska Humane Society - Vinny

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Vinny, a stray kitten who was found freezing in a trash can back in January, has found his forever home, the Nebraska Humane Society says.

Vinny’s update was issued in honor of the NHS Kitten Shower which raises money for the expected rush of kittens in the spring.

A good Samaritan initially found Vinny curled up in a trash can with frostbite covering his legs, ears, and tail.  NHS was able to get Vinny back to good health but had to remove his ears and tail due to the extent of his frostbite.

Vinny is now doing well and is happy in his forever home, according to NHS.

NHS is always looking for assistance with supplies needed to take care of the animals brought to them.  Monetary donations can be made through the NHS website.  Supply donations can be made via a wish list registry on Amazon or Chewy.

If you are in Omaha and see an animal that you suspect is suffering in the cold weather you can call the Nebraska Humane Society at 402-444-7800 Ext. 1.

Lincoln residents can contact the Capital Humane Society at 402-441-4488 Ext. 2
