Lancaster County reaches 200 total COVID deaths

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) announced two more died have died from COVID-19 in the community.

The individuals have been identified as a woman in her 90s who was hospitalized and a man in his 80s from a long-term care facility who had been hospitalized. This moves the community total to 200 deaths.

LLCHD also confirms 71 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 26,789.

More than 10,370 people have recovered from the virus.

The positivity rate so far this week is not yet available.

As of Monday, 55 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 (34 from Lancaster County). A total of three patients are on ventilators.

Vaccination registration numbers also continue to rise exponentially, with nearly 67,000 people registered.
