LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Las Vegas woman has died inside her cell at a Lincoln jail, the Lancaster County Department of Corrections said.

Corrections staff found 37-year-old Judith Deandrade unresponsive in her cell on Thursday.  They administered lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived.

Deandrade had been in jail since her arrest on March 9.  She was arrested after the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office seized over $800,000 worth of meth from her vehicle during a traffic stop.

Deputies also found 40 grams of suspected fentanyl and used syringes.

Deandrade was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

A grand jury will now begin an investigation into the death.
