Last Pleasant Day Before WINDY
A warm/hot, dry & breezy day. High temperatures statewide reaching the 80s & 90s under mostly/partly sunny skies. A warm front will move W->E bringing the western half of the state hotter temperatures & breezier winds.
Tuesday afternoon, eastern Nebraska will see the lighter winds, while western Nebraska gets the breezy winds. Critical fire weather will be elevated these next 48 hours!
WINDY & WARM Wednesday
NW winds will gust to near 45-50+ mph all day Wednesday! Sustained winds will persist around 20-25 mph.
Wednesday afternoon will be WINDY for all of us! Some areas from Broken Bow & north could see gusts up to 55-60 mph!
Father’s Day Weekend SEVERE WX:
Storms will look to form out west Saturday afternoon, carrying a hail/wind threat. By late Saturday into early Sunday, storms will move ESE carrying all hazards as the LLJ will be primed near the NE/KS border. Still lots of time, but just a heads up since it’s Father’s Day weekend after all!!
Overnight Saturday, areas along & south of I-80 will have the greatest storm potential due to the potential LLJ placement.
Wednesday turns windy & hot. Friday night, a chance for late rain/storms. Our next best rain/storm chance comes this weekend with severe weather a possibility.
