‘Leadership is outstanding’: Seward football comes back with experience
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Seward High School football team is entering the upcoming season with excitement and experience.
Last season, the Bluejays finished with an 8-3 overall record, earning the program a trip to the playoffs.
This season, the program is led by a strong senior class headlined by quarterback Kalen Knott and linebacker Nolan Hill.
“We really gotta get the younger guys going, they have been showing up every day for summer lifting, practicing,” Hill said. “I think that’s a really important part.”
Head coach Jamie Opfer has a “climbing a hill” mentality this season, saying he would like the team to take everything one day at a time.
“Leadership is outstanding, work ethic is outstanding, we have some great potential in those guys,” Opfer said when talking about the senior class.
The Bluejays will take on Norris on August 26th.
