LINCOLN, Neb., (KLKN)– The Lied Center is one of few theatres in the country opening during the pandemic.
“We are thrilled to be opening the 31st season at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, its been kind of a unique time,” said Bill Stephan, executive director.
The center requires face masks and is taking advantage of the space they have by socially distancing guests for shows all workers and talent take wellness surveys and get temperature checks. Newsical the musical showed today and its cast of 4 was showcased by using social distancing to keep performers and workers safe.
“It’s totally crazy being back home doing a musical in Lincoln during this once in a lifetime pandemic,” said Micheal D’Angora, producer if Newsical the Musical. “You know I always dreamed of coming home and playing the Lied Center stage and this was not what I was dreaming at all. But I’m very happy with how it’s turning out.”
“The Lied Center has been working extensively to provide the safest possible venue for having events,” said Stephan. “We have social distancing required throughout the building including the seating so its lots of space in between socially distanced groups.”
The Lied Center has touchless options for payment, are following UNMC guidelines, and have shows lined up through 2021.
