Lincoln business helps put together Winter Haymarket event

The first annual Winter Market takes place this weekend.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Haymarket will be home to the first annual Winter Market this weekend.

Local business Wax Buffalo partnered with the Lincoln Haymarket Association to showcase Sunday’s event.

Business owner and Founder, Alicia Reisinger, says this event is sure to bring family traditions to the Haymarket.

“My dream for this market is that it will become a Christmas tradition for all of Lincoln,” she said.

Reisinger says it’s not just the hopeful traditions the market will bring, but also tons of local businesses.

“Every single vendor is local, so it’s locally sourced,” she said. “It’s local stores that’ll set up tiny boutiques under the bridge so you get to shop all the tiny stores in Lincoln but it’s in one place.”

With the bustling Haymarket community at the heart of the event, Reisinger stresses that without the community’s involvement, the Haymarket doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

“I think showing up here is a step one, but then I think you’ll see that there are really beautiful things to shop at this market that will also help out community grow,” she said.
