Lincoln business owner hosts first solo large-scale vendor show
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Those looking to get that last-minute personal holiday gift gathered at the Cornhusker Marriott Conference Center on Sunday to attend a craft and vendor show.
Around 100 vendors were at the show, many of them being local businesses.
One of the vendors, Wild Orange Creations, was the event’s host.
Wild Orange owner Breanna Greenwalt said many emails and phone calls went into making Sunday’s show run smoothly.
“Leading up to it is all very easy,” she said. “It’s the day of that really gets you.”
Greenwalt has co-hosted events before, like one back in August that benefited two Lincoln schools, but Sunday was her first time hosting a large event alone.
“We are 85% handmade today, but we also have some direct sales that you know and love as well,” she said.
Getting members of the community to interact with one another was one of the many functions of the event.
“When you support your local businesses, you in turn are supporting yourself because the local businesses are putting the money back into the community,” Greenwalt said.
She said there were almost no repeats in the products sold at the show, with each business owner bringing something unique to sell.
The market was only open Sunday afternoon, but you can still find many of the vendors selling products in Lincoln or through online spaces like Facebook.
