Lincoln catering company offering warm meals and help for Ukraine
Chef Nestor with Doorstep Diner Catering in Lincoln wanted to find a way to help Ukrainians, even though he's thousands of miles away.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – It was a simple idea that has quickly taken off. Chef Nestor with Doorstep Diner Catering in Lincoln wanted to find a way to help Ukrainians, even though he’s thousands of miles away.
“How can I help them with my abilities, and reach out to them, but still here in Nebraska?” Nestor Conato, the head chef at Doorstep Diner Catering said, “I figured it out, I can make food for the people of Lincoln.”
Conato would then begin cooking Ukrainian-style meals for families right here in Lincoln, with some of the proceeds going to Ukraine relief.
“It has been absolutely fantastic response,” one of the owners of Doorstep Diner Catering, Chad Klein, said.
Cabbage rolls, chicken Kyiv and even special Ukrainian garlic rolls, something for everyone.
The efforts didn’t stop there, three other businesses liked the idea so much, they decided to match Doorstep Diners’ offers. Simple Wellness Massage, Cooks Cafe and Reise Electric all offered to pitch in.
Chad and Nestor say this is their way of offering a helping hand to those in need.
“This is our way of giving back and something we can do,” Klein said.
If you’d like to order a meal, they are served every Tuesday through Doorstep Diner Catering.
