Lincoln City Council OKs rezoning near Wilderness Park

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln City Council on Monday approved a controversial rezoning of land near Wilderness Park.

Council members voted 5 to 2 for a rezoning that would allow a 500-home development to be built east of Highway 77 and south of Pioneers Boulevard.

Opponents have expressed concerns about the project’s effect on the environment.

And part of the park is considered sacred by Native Americans.
